Holidays!

Image
Hurrah, I'm off on my holidays on Friday, I've been a bit busy packing this week so haven't had time to make any cards or take part in What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday. So, we are off to Norfolk for a week of R & R (oh and cycling!) The forecast is good too so I'm happy :-) Have a great week and watch out for some more challenge entering from me on my return! I didn't have a suitable card to upload today, so here is Little Miss Fun instead, which will be me on my hols :-)

Sunshine and Bling!

Image
And here is another card which I made today which I am going to enter into the following challenges: Quirky Crafts summer challenge Charisma cards 'All about bling' A spoonfull of sugar - enjoying the sunshine Lothian Crafts Summer's coming challenge I made the card using my new Penny Black Stamp which I got on the internet for £1 (bargain), some left over paper from my Funky Hand Dreams Come True CD and I used my Cuttlebug to do the frame. I also used my pro markers to colour the image (half price in Hobbycraft at the moment, yet another bargain!) The shelves were a bit bare when I went yesterday mind you, but I finally managed to get a red one (to do the ladybird with), they seem to be a bit rare?! Have a good rest of Sunday, I'm off to bed now x

A Sunday of crafting

Image
I've managed to find some time for crafting this weekend in between whizzing off in the hubby's new MX5! In fact, I have managed to do quite a few cards for various birthdays and also theme them so I can enter some challenges with them, bonus! So here is my first one which I am entering for the Get Funky June challenge which is to have a card themed cream, pink and brown. I had great fun with a stamp I bought recently, I stamped with pink ink round the edge of the flower designs and then heat embossed. The backing paper is from the Funky Hand Dreams Come True CD. Here also is a picture of me in the car which is distracting me from my crafting! Still, I think we are going to see a lot of country pubs this summer, lol. Deal is that hubby drives there and I get to drive back (after he has had lager, obviously!) I get to have a glass of wine when we get back, so less of a hangover and I get to drive the sporty car, bonus!

What's on your work desk Wednesday 54

Image
Well it's that time of the week again, comes around quick doesn't it?! I'm writing this very early on Wednesday morning (well, very early for me, 7.40am, others tell me this isn't very early at all!) as I have a bit more time this morning. Unfortunately the reason for having a bit more time is not that fantastic, I'm going to the dentist :-( Only for a check up but I hate going due to my overly sensitive stupid teeth! So, what's on my desk this week? Not that much has changed since last week really as what with hubby getting a new toy (Mazda MX5) and me going away to visit a friend at the weekend, I haven't had that much time for crafting. I managed to do an hour or so last night so took the photos then. On the desk you can see a couple of Craftrak cards, one is an 'England' themed card for the World Cup - better get it sent before we get knocked out (please don't lynch me, my theory is if I am very sceptical and negative then maybe I will b

Blog award

Image
Ooo, I have been given a blog award and I have been given it twice!! Once by Paula from Paula's Playground and then a second time by Kathleen at the Daisy Chain. Thanks for thinking of me and glad you enjoy my relatively new blog! So, now I have the award I have to tell you where I want to be in 10 years time. Well, I would obviously hope to still be healthy and happy and to be with my lovely hubby, preferably in Spain I think. I would like to not have to work if I didn't want to and any work that I am doing will have to be for myself and not a corporate machine (if I could escape the corporate machine tomorrow I definitely would! Need the money too much at the moment though unfortunately). So, it's going to be a bit difficult really to award this blog award to anyone who hasn't already got it, what with me being a new blogger and all, not having many followers and generally only probably being in contact with the 18 other people my nominators have already nom

Sparkly 40th Birthday Card

Image
This card was made for a work colleague who has admired quite a few of my cards which have dragonflies on. She also likes lots of bling and sparkle and is one of my best customers! So I thought I would make her a special card for her 40th which is on Thursday. I'm also going to take the opportunity to enter it in to a couple of challenges, so here we go: Pollycraft Monday Challenge (ribbon and bling) Cupcake Craft Challenges (Dazzle us) Hope it is sparkly enough for you guys! ;-)

WOYWW - week 53

Image
Hello fellow woywwers (that's assuming you are a fellow WOYWW blogger, if not and you haven't got a clue what I am going on about, check it out at Julia's blog here ) Sorry I didn't get around to posting last week. To my shame I didn't manage to do a one year anniversary project nor did I get time to even post an ordinary post, life is just way too hectic! I'm actually typing this up on Tuesday evening ready for posting as yet again I won't have time tomorrow. I have to type quick as well as I have just discovered a brand new 'Zumba' class on at my local leisure centre so I want to give that a go and it starts in half an hour! No rest for the wicked eh?! Well, TA-DAH, here at last is my new crafting corner in the conservatory. Didn't take long for it to become a complete and utter tip really did it, lol?? Shame about the rain teaming (or should that be teeming?) down the conservatory windows really! It's still light enough to craft on a

Craftalicious challenge

Image
So here is the first card made at my super new desk in my super new crafty corner! I wanted to make a new baby girl card for my 'box' at work which I sell cards to my colleagues from so when I saw this challenge today I thought this was the ideal opportunity! (I already have a baby boy card in the box, like to keep one of each in there just in case!) The theme of the challenge is 'new' as this is the very first Craftalicious challenge. So my card is 'new baby girl'. Made from some gorgeous images I got on a sheet at a craft fair, my funky hand cd papers (again, getting a bit addicted to those!) some peel offs, gems and baby girl ribbon. If you want to check out the challenge and also the blog hop (which I'm off to do in a mo) at the craftalicious blog then click here

Bit of an avalanche!!

Image
I've had a bit of an avalanche of Craftrak cards land through my letter box this week (if you haven't heard of Craftrak, it is a card swapping website, the idea is to see how far your cards travel - see it here ). So here are the cards I've received this week (minus one which I found on the coffee table in the lounge, I'd forgotten to log it and so it's missing from the photos). Yes, they are on my new desk in my new craft corner in the conservatory, hurrah!! It took all of Thursday evening plus this morning to put the craft desk together (bloody flat pack) accompanied by a lot of huffing, puffing, swearing and sweating (bit hot in there this morning!) but at last it is ready :-) I made my first card at my super new desk this afternoon, one for a challenge so I will post that next. I did manage to do some crafting in my new craft space last week before the desk arrived, on a table that is really meant for in the garden! Wasn't much good for stamping on, too

And for my next challenge...

Image
I'm getting into this challenge thing now, especially as I now (as of yesterday afternoon) have my craft area set up in the conservatory! No more tidying everything away, hurrah!! So, I came across the Allsorts Challenge Blog and decided to enter their challenge this week, which is 'black, white and one other'. You can visit their blog and this week's challenge here My card used a gold decoupage flower I have had for a while and have been waiting for some inspiration to use. The white backgound is embossed and cut using my favourite new(ish) toy, the Cuttlebug. The black and white background is from my funky hand CD, I love all the different patterns and colours you can print out from that range. Topped off with a bow and a simple greeting. More about my craft room later :-)
