WOYWW 67
Hello fellow WOYWWER's! (Pop over to Julia's blog at the Stamping Ground if you have no idea what I am on about! Click on the WOYWW badge in my sidebar and it will take you there).
Apols for my absence last week, it is all a bit hectic here at the moment...I am currently busy applying for jobs where I work as we are being restructured so my job as it is now won't exist anymore. Thankfully the process will be completed in a couple of weeks so that particular stress will be over.
I've managed to get a bit of crafting done though, mainly spurred on by my mammoth haul from the Great Northern Papercraft Extravaganza at the weekend! I just had to get playing with all the glittery sparkly stuff I had bought so I've made a start on my Christmas cards. I'm thinking the purple glitter on the black background is perhaps a little bit dark though?! Will have to brighten this one with some gems I think and maybe just use the lighter glitter for the next one.
There is blooming glitter all over the place, oops! I am wanting to make a card for a challenge and worthwhile cause as well over at Cowgirl's sunday stamp'en christmas cards for soldiers but the instructions say no glitter as this could put soilders lives at risk! So I've wiped all the glitter away and will leave it a few days to make sure any stray bits have gone. I wouldn't want a soilder leaving a trail of glitter behind him in Afghanistan or anything, eek!
For the person who asked me a couple of weeks ago where my paper trimmer is from (sorry can't recall who asked) it is a Crafters Companion one. It has 4 different blades - straight, wavy, perforating and a scorer. I got it as a free gift with a magazine subscription and it has been very good - had it about 6 months now and no problems.
Hope to get round a few more desks this week, I don't know how those who get round all of them manage though as I usually only manage about a third. I'm varying it each week, i.e. numbers 1-35 one week, then 36+ the next week etc, so I will get to you eventually!

Realised I have typed 'soilder' instead of 'soldier' a few times there, I can spell, honest ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi there, love that you're doing cards for the soldiers:) Your desk is great and laden with goodies, sounds like the northern show was pretty good then?? Thanks for sharing:0) xx
ReplyDeleteHi Alison, didn't notice your little bin earlier, very lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe eyes - what happened was DD gave me them months ago along with some small googly eyes, I put away all the small ones but never got round to finding a home for the big ones. Spyder spotted them and suggested I move them round each week, so they've remained a feature ever since LOL I do forget them occasionally and must admit haven't moved them much recently but will try to remember to do that next week ;-)

ReplyDeleteNice shopping haul from the GNPE. Love your glittery tree card. Thanks for the snoop round.
ReplyDeleteLucky you getting to the show last weekend. Thanks for the info re glitter on soldiers cards... I too send them out to Afghanistan from time to time so it's worth knowing. I bet it could reflect the sun and spoil any camouflage!

Love your post and your wonderfully workable workdesk. lol Lots of wonderful fun goodies too!
ReplyDeleteIt may be dark, but my, it's stunning! Love purple for christmas. I accept everything I'm told, but cannot imagine the danger caused by glitter. Good luck with clearing your space of it...it's a pig!
